" Bury me in a blue blanket, so God doesn't know I am a girl" Andrea Gibson, 2018

Inspired by the poet Andrea Gibson. The piece considers themes of gender discrimination, inferiority, oppression and ‘the womb that never produced blue’. it is the hidden story from my mother’s memory. It represents an account of female depression, devaluation and unpaid labour in the family home, through the use of implied and redacted imagery. making apparent what is both seen and unseen. This project is in progress.
